Meditation Tips for Beginners

1.Time and Place

First, find out the right time and the right place.

Time and place are important.

Both of them should come together. If you find the right time, but it is not the right place, it can collapse your meditation. For example, you prefer to meditate at 6 p.m. in the living room, but your sister also uses that room for her singing practice.

Tips: The best time for meditation

-        In the early morning: The best time of day to meditate is early in the morning. Your mind is not yet occupied with unwanted thoughts. If meditation is your first activity in a day, your mind can easily be stilled. You can exercise yoga in the outdoors before you sit in meditation. The beautiful sunrise in the new day brings promise of a fresh start. Meditation will help you feel fresh and happy.

-         In the afternoon:  Maybe you'd like to meditate in the afternoon. It is a good time to take a break from your routine activities. Meditation can increase your energy to finish the rest of your tasks. Your clear mind can create bright ideas at work.

-       In the evening and night: The evening is the next best time if you do not have a chance to meditate in the morning. Your body prepares to rest in the evening. You may be tired from work. It is a good way to set your time to meditate. You can be overcome by bad feelings. Meditation brings more energy into your system.

*** Individual time may be different. Find out the best time for yourself.

2. Posture & Position

you can prepare a mat or cushion and sit on it.

Another option, Rest the hands palm down on the thighs,
and turn the hand onto its edge, fingers pointing up.

Sitting on a chair: You can sit on a chair if you are

Meditation

Close your eyes and clear your mind: Please do not squeeze your eyeballs and do not press your eye lids.

·   Free your mind from all kinds of thoughts.

Imagine that you are sitting alone in the universe.

Release all your stress. In the beginning, it is all new. You may have many questions such as “How long do I need to meditate?” Release any questions and relax your entire body at all points. Let go of any outside distractions and focus on your breathing or your objects. Visualize an object such as a crystal ball. Meditate as if you are resting. You should feel comfortable and release all negative emotions.

Use the mantra if you still wander. It is the sound to focus your mind. (The mantra: "Samma Arahang" or any word)

Keep your mind continuously calm. Feel at ease.

Do not be pleased and displeased with
what you see. Your body will relax and attain inner happiness.

4.  Practice Regularly

Meditation is like any skill. You should keep practicing continually. You will gain more experience. Meditation is useful for everyone. Having a regular meditation practice has been shown to have benefits such as less stress. Regular practice is also good for everyone around you. When you feel happy, you can create a lot of positive actions with people.

5. Get a Group
When you join with a group, you can learn and share
your experiences with people. Your knowledge can expand to the world. There are a lot of meditation centers near your place. True love never ends with sharing. Try it.
